Soccer News – European football

The club seasons in European football are over, but it doesn’t mean that we will stop watching interesting games during the summer. Now it’s time once again to move into national level football, because there are some World Cup qualifiers to be played.

On Friday we are going to witness some important clashes to be played. In Europe we will have the chance to follow one of the derbies in Group A between Sweden and France. Right now these two teams are on the top of the group, with France being on three points ahead of the Swedes. In same time Netherlands are hosting the outsider Luxembourg, while Belarus and Bulgaria are also going head to head in Minsk.

The European champion Portugal will travel to Latvia. After once again winning the Champions League with Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo will be in high spirits for this game. Meanwhile the leader in the group Switzerland will have to win mandatory three points against Faroe Islands.

In Group H the leader in the standings and a favourite for the first place Belgium is travelling to Tallinn to face Estonia. Meanwhile the outsider Gibraltar will try to win at least a point in the home match against Cyprus, but can they? They have conceded 22 goals in their first five games in the group so far.

On Saturday we should expect to enjoy the big battle for Britain between Scotland and England in Group F. In the same time Slovenia are hosting Malta and they are expected to win, while Lithuania will host the strong team of Slovakia.

In Group C we expect to see a lot of goals in San Marino’s net during their visit to the current World Champion Germany. Much more competitive match we are expecting between Norway and Czech Republic in Oslo. Right now surprisingly Northern Ireland are 2nd in the group, but they will have a difficult test against Azerbaijan away from home.

There will be an interesting game in Group E of the World Cup qualifiers in Europe. Poland are hosting Romania and we should see a competitive clash between these two teams. Meanwhile Montenegro will seek mandatory three points against Armenia at home, while Denmark will try to avoid any mistakes during its visit to Kazakhstan.

It’s not a World Cup qualifier, but you have to watch it. On Friday afternoon we will once again have the chance to watch the football classic between Brazil and Argentina. The two major forces in South America will meet in another friendly game at Melbourne.

Few hours later, we will have another interesting friendly game to follow. The World Cup host Russia will welcome the champion of South America Chile at VEB Arena in the capital Moscow. It will be a strong test for the Russians, because as we know, Chile are one of the best teams in the world in the last few years.
