Soccer News – Barcelona-PSV

It’s time for the five times winners Barcelona to kick off their Champions League campaign. The draw sent the Catalan giant to Group B of the competition in the company of Tottenham, Inter and PSV. And now Los Cules begin their campaign with a match against PSV at the Camp Nou in the Catalan capital.

After being eliminated in a very dissapointing way by Roma last season, now Barcelona are motivated to do much better in the Champions League and reach the final of the competition. The team’s captain Lionel Messi promised all of the fans that this time their boys will do the business in the tournament.

In the Spanish La Liga Barcelona started in the best way possible – with four wins from four games played. Barca are currently leading the standings with a perfect record of 12 points won so far. In their last game Los Cules won with 2-1 their visit to Real Sociedad, thanks to goals from Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele. Ernesto Valverde was not fully satisfied with the performance of his players, but winning was the most important thing on this day.

PSV also started their Eredivisie campaign in a perfect way, winning all of their five games played so far. What’s even more impressive is that they have scored 21 goals in just 5 matches played so far. PSV are leading the Eredivisie standings with 15 points won. In their last game they scored seven times against ADO Den Haag away from home.

It’d be curious to see how Barcelona’s former player Mark van Bommel will do against his former team as a manager of PSV. So far Van Bommel is impressing as a manager, but let’s see how he will do against club like Barca. It’s going to be an interesting game.
