Soccer News – Finland-Russia

Finland faces Russia in the city of Saint-Petersburg in a match from Group B of the Euro 2020. Are you ready to remain with us and see our preview for the game?

Finland are approaching this game after their historic first win at a major tournament. Few days ago Suomi faced Denmark in their first match at the Euro and scored a thrilling 1-0 win in Copenhagen. The only goal in the game was scored by Joel Pohjanpalo after hour of playing.

Finland celebrated the win, but this was not the main topic after the game. The match was a rather sad affair because of the collapse which Denmark’s Christian Eriksen suffered in the first half. Many people still think that this game should have not been finished.

How we said, this was Finland’s first win in a major tournament. Against Denmark the head coach Markku Kanerva used a defensive 5-3-2 formation with Pohjanpalo and Teemu Pukki upfront. The trio of Lod, Sparv and Kamara operated in midfield. After this win maybe Markku Kanerva won’t be doing any changes in his line-up.

Russia have a work to do after suffering a defeat in their first match at the Euro. Sbornaya had the tough task to face Belgium and suffered a 0-3 defeat at the hands of the Red Devils. It was not such a surprise, of course – the Belgians are one of the favorites for winning the trophy this year.

Russia’s manager Stanislav Cherchesov was not happy with his team’s performance in Saint-Petersburg few days ago, and the final result can tell you why. His 4-2-3-1 formation didn’t work against the Red Devils. Most likely Cherchesov won’t change his tactics, but maybe some of players. Denis Cheryshev received an injury against Belgium, but Miranchuk, Diveev and Karavaev could return in the starting eleven.

That’s our professional preview for the Euro 2020 match between Finland and Russia at the Euro 2020. Let’s see how this one will play out.
