Soccer News – Getafe-Real Madrid
Getafe hosts Real Madrid at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez in a game from the 19th round of Spanish La Liga. Let’s make some predictions about this fixture on Saturday.
Just like the last season, Getafe are doing pretty well since the first day of the campaign. Right now they are 6th in the standings of La Liga with 30 points, but just one point behind the 5th Real Sociedad and only two points behind the 4th Atletico Madrid. The manager Jose Bordalas deserves compliments, because for a second consecutive season he’s successfully turning Getafe in one of the most consistent teams in Spain.
Getafe conceded their just fourth loss in the league in their last game before the New Year. Bordalas’ boys travelled to face Villarreal, but they lost with 0-1 the visit to Estadio de la Ceramica. Villarreal’s Moi Gomez scored the only goal in the game soon after the start of the second half. Meanwhile Getafe played the last half an hour with a man less on the pitch, because Mathias Oliveira got sent off.
Real Madrid need the win here because they are now two points behind the leader Barcelona in La Liga. Zinedine Zidane’s team is in a run of three consecutive draws in the league, which was certainly not part of the manager’s plans. Madrid were unable to win neither one of their games against Valencia, Barcelona and Athetic Bilbao in the league.
One of Madrid’s biggest problems remains the fitness of the summer signing Eden Hazard. The Belgian star can’t find consistency since he joined Los Blancos because of injuries. Most likely Hazard won’t be avaliable against Getafe as well.
Because of Getafe’s performing as a solid team and a team which is hard to beat, we expect some tough moments for Real Madrid at the Coliseum. But in same time Madrid know that they can’t allow themselves lose points for a fourth consecutive time.
