Soccer News – Juventus-Bayer Leverkusen

Juventus hosts Bayer Leverkusen in a Champions League game from Group D of the competition. Who do you think is going to win this clash at the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday? Let’s talk little more about this today.

Juventus had a tough job in the first round of the group stage, because the Bianconeri had to visit the other favourite in the group Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano in the Spanish capital. It’s safe to say that Maurizio Sarri’s boys missed a great opportunity to win, because they had a clear two goals advangate thanks to Juan Cuadrado and Blaise Matuidi. In the last 20 minutes Juve made two mistakes though and Atletico equalised with goals from Stefan Savic and Hector Herrera.

Since he replaced Massimiliano Allegri as a manager of Juventus, Maurizio Sarri is still unbeaten. Since the draw at the Wanda, the Old Lady enjoyed three consecutives wins in the Serie A. On Saturday the champions beat SPAL at home, thanks to the goals of Miralem Pjanic and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Meanwhile Bayer Leverkusen suffered a huge dissapointment in the opening round of the Champions League group stage. The German side hosted Lokomotiv Moscow with the thought of winning, but they suffered a 1-2 loss at the BayArena. Even Lokomotiv Moscow’s Benedikt Howedes’ own goal didn’t help Leverkusen, because Lokomotiv secured the win with goals from Grzegorz Krychowiak.

Since this defeat, Leverkusen are showing good shape, winning two games in the Bundesliga. On Saturday Peter Bosz’ boys visited Augsburg and achieved a 3-0 win. Can they win now a first point in the Champions League as well?

There’s no doubt that Juventus are favourites against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Tuesday. The Old Lady is chasing first Champions League triumph since the 90’s and this is too much of a wait. Can this be their year?
