Soccer News – Juventus-Fiorentina
On Sunday Juve will try to get back on their feet after the dissapointing 1-2 defeat against Napoli last week. The Old Lady was considered huge favourite against struggling Napoli, but the game at the San Paolo didn’t end very well for Maurizio Sarri’s team. Cristiano Ronaldo scored for Juventus at the end of the game, but before this Napoli already scored twice and got a solid lead.
Despite of this defeat Juventus are still three points ahead of Inter Milan in the standings. This was Juve’s just second loss since the beginning of the campaign. There’s no reason to panic, but now the champions will have a good opportunity to show their true quality again. Otherwise Inter Milan could get even closer to them.
Fiorentina will travel to Turin with the confidence of a team which is unbeaten in its last four matches in the Serie A. In these four games La Viola won twice and made two draws. Most certainly this is an improvement compared to the difficult time with Vincenzo Montella at helm.
Last week Fiorentina made their 7th draw for the season. Giuseppe Iachini’s team hosted Genoa at the Artemio Franchi, but surprisingly the game ended with a 0-0 draw. For Fiorentina it was a bad result because Genoa are currently in the relegation zone of the Serie A.
For Juventus this is important to make a positive step after the unexpected loss against Napoli. The title race with Inter Milan and possibly Lazio remains intense, so every win will count at the end. Maybe Maurizio Sarri will make some adjustments in his team after what happened against his former team in Naples. We will see.
