Soccer News – Liverpool-Everton

Liverpool hosts Everton in the great Liverpool derby in a match from the 16th round of the English Premier League.

Liverpool are currently 4th in the Premier League with 29 points won so far. The Reds are unbeaten in their last five matches, winning four of them and losing points only during the 1-1 draw against Chelsea at the Anfield. Liverpool are currently on 14 points behind the leader Manchester City, so it’s hard to think about the title, but Jurgen Klopp’s team is at least still in the fight for a Top 4 finish.

If they clinch a win against Everton, it would be another important step for Liverpool towards a return to the Champions League next season.

As for Everton, the Blues are currently 10th in the Premier League standings with 18 points. Everton’s position in the table was much worse than it is now, but two consecutive wins against West Ham and Huddersfield Town guaranteed some important points for the team. The win against Huddersfield was a bit special, because it was an official debut for the new manager Sam Allardyce. And it was a good day for Big Sam.

The team news before the big derby at the Anfield.

Alberto Moreno, Joel Matip and Nathaniel Clyne are unavaliable for Liverpool due to injuries. The good news come from the recovery of the midfielder Adam Lallana, who is once again ready to play and participate in the match.

Everton can’t use the suspended Idrissa Gueye, while James McCarthy, Ross Barkley and Ramiro Mori are injured. Meanwhile Maarten Stekelenburg and Leighton Baines are doubtful because of injuries. Yannick Bolasie and Seamus Coleman are ready to come back on the pitch.

This is going to be an exciting game for sure. Liverpool are favourites, but Everton look good under the guidance of their new manager Sam Allardyce.
