Soccer News – Manchester City-Brighton

The Premier League champions Manchester City welcome Brighton & Hove Albion in a fixture from the fourth round of the league. As always, we expect an exciting game at the Etihad. Let’s look at it.

Two wins and one draw – this is Manchester City’s record from the first three rounds of the new campaign. The Cityzens took all the points against West Ham and Bournemouth, but they only did a draw during the home game against Tottenham Hotspur. Now against Brighton & Hove City will aim to secure their first home win for the season.

After the draw against Spurs at the Etihad, Man City needed to respond against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. And they did. Pep Guardiola’s boys scored three times in Aaron Ramsdale’s net and secured a comfortable 3-1 win. Sergio Aguero scored twice for the champions, while Raheem Sterling scored his fifth Premier League goal for the season. Sterling is now leading the goalscorers’ chart in the league, alongside Norwich City’s Teemu Pukki.

Brighton & Hove Albion on the other hand kicked off their campaign with one win, one draw and one defeat. In their last game the Seagulls suffered their first loss for the season, being beaten by Southampton at home. The fault for this is entirely on Florin Andone’s shoulders, because the Romanian striker was sent off after just 30 minutes of playing. This allowed the visitors to win the game, scoring twice after the halftime break.

As you can suggest, Florin Andone will miss the travel to Etihad on Satuday. Meanwhile Ezequiel Schelotto, Yves Bissouma and Jose Izquierdo are recovering from injuries.

In the same time Pep Guardiola can’t use the injured Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus, while Benjamin Mendy and Leroy Sane are also out.

We shall see if the win will come easily for Manchester City against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday. Don’t forget that this is the Premier League and everything is possible.
