Soccer News – Real Valladolid-Barcelona

Real Valladolid faces Barcelona at the Jose Zorrilla in a fixture from the 36th round of La Liga.

Real Valladolid approach this game from 14th place in the standings. Sergio’s team have 39 points won so far and a record of 8 wins, 15 draws and 12 losses. The club is 10 points away from the relegation zone, so we can that’s a successful season for Valladolid. Their campaign was not anything special, but they are pretty much safe, which is the most important thing.

In their last match Valladolid suffered a 12th loss for the season. They paid a visit to Valencia at the Mestalla and scored thanks to Victor Garcia, but Los Che scored one more.

Barcelona are second in La Liga with 76 points, but most likely they will lose their title to Real Madrid. Los Cules made too many mistakes since the restart of the season, so Real Madrid are the top favourites for the gold medals now. It is what it is for Barca.

On Wednesday the Catalans played a local derby against Espanyol, but it was surprisingly difficult for them. Despite of Espanyol being the weakest team in the league, Barca barely won with 1-0 at the Camp Nou. Luis Suarez scored the winning goal in the 56th minute after Messi’s shot was deflected.

The youngster Ansu Fati recieved the first red card in his career against Espanyol. The talented winger entered the pitch as a substitute, but he made a dangerous challenge to Calero and got sent off. He won’t be able to play against Valladolid on Saturday.

Once again Barcelona didn’t shine in their last match which is another food for thought for the manager Quique Setien. The Catalans won’t have it easy against a tough team like Valladolid, so they need to show something better on the pitch.
