Soccer News – Schalke 04-RB Leipzig
Schalke 04 hosts RB Leipzig at the Veltins-Arena in a match from the 20th round of German Bundesliga. We have a solid favourite in this game, but let’s preview it first in the next few minutes.
Schalke 04 are moving closer and closer to the 2. Bundesliga. At this moment the Royal Blues are at the bottom of the table being 18th with just 8 points won so far. Schalke find themselves 9 points behind the 16th Arminia Bielefeld and place which would allow them to participate in a relegation playoff at least.
The statistics are awful for Schalke – they have won just one game since the beginning of the season. We can’t really explain to ourselves what’s happening because Schalke are one of the big German clubs. Obviously they have a lot of problems now, though. In their last match the Royal Blues paid a visit to Werder Bremen and only got a point after a 1-1 draw at the Weserstadion.
RB Leipzig are sitting at second place in the standings with 38 points won so far. This puts them 7 points behind the leader Bayern Munich and three points ahead of the third Wolfsburg. It’d be hard for them to win the title, but they are on course to get a place in the Champions League.
In the previous round the Red Bulls achieved their 11th win for the season. Julian Nagelsmann’s team hosted Bayer Leverkusen at home and enjoyed a difficult, but a sweet 1-0 win over Die Werkself. Christopher Nkunku scored the only goal in the game six minutes after the halftime break.
That’s the preview of the Bundesliga clash between Schalke 04 and RB Leipzig at the Veltins Arena on Saturday. Could this be an easy game for the Red Bulls? Surely they are the top favourites, but let’s see first.
