Soccer News –Spain – Italy
Spain hosts Italy in the most interesting game of the World Cup qualifying campaign this weekend. The match is going to be played on Saturday night at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid. This is a game from Group G of the European qualifiers.
Far from surprising, Spain and Italy are the two leaders in Group G, without suffering a defeat in six games played so far. Both teams are on the top of the group with 16 points won so far, with their only draw being between each other in the first time they met.
The only reason why Spain are on the top of the group is because of goal difference – 21:3 for La Roja and 18:4 for the Azzuri. After their match in Italy ended with a 1-1 draw in the end of the last year, they’ve been flawless with four consesutive wins being achieved.
The big questions is – who is going to win this group? It’s safe to say that this game is going to decide everything. Whoever wins this game, most surely will win the group as well. Because it’s hard to think that Spain and Italy will make a mistake against some other team from this company.
In its last game Spain beat Macedonia with 2:1 in Skopje. David Silva and Diego Costa scored the goals for La Roja, while Stefan Ristovski’s strike led to a goal for the home team.
In its last match Italy beat the outsided Liechtenstein with 5-0 at home. Goals were scored by Insigne, Belotti, Martins, Bernardeschi and Gabbiadini.
We shall all expect a very good football by these two amazing sides. Their first match in Italy ended without a winner. Would it be the same in Madrid? The draw will be a better result for the leader Spain, so maybe Italy will go all out in attack? We shall see.
