We are ahead of another week of interesting football games. Let us guide you through some of them.
Today we are about to witness some important World Cup qualifications from Asia. In Group B Thailand hosts UAE. Both teams are too far away from the first three places in the group, occupied by Japan, Saudi Arabia and Australia. Actually, Thailand are last in the group with just one point won so far. UAE are 4th with 9.
Meanwhile Iraq are hosting Japan. Japan are currently leaders in Group B, having the same amount of points as Saudi Arabia and Australia – 16. But they have the best goal difference in the group, which makes them leaders at the moment.
We are also going to see two games from Group A of the Asia World Cup qualifiers. The outsider in the group Qatar is hosting one of the favourites for a direct promotion to the World Cup – South Korea. Right now Qatar are last in the group with just 4 points won. Meanwhile South Korea are second with 13 points, which for now is giving them a straight way to the World Cup. But they need to keep winning, as they have just one point advantage in front of the 3th Uzbekistan.
In same time Syria are hosting China in Malaka. It’s a really dissapointing campaign for Marcelo Lippi’s China, who are 5th in the group with 5 points and basically almost non-existing chances of qualifying. Meanwhile Syria are in a little bit of a better position, having won 8 points in the group so far.
There are also some good friendly games to watch tonight.
In Oslo we are going to see another Scandinavian derby, because Norway are hosting Sweden. The away team is in a much better form lately, even beating France in a World Cup qualifier just a few days ago. Sweden are currently leaders in their group in the qualifiers, which speaks enough of itself.
In same time Romania are hosting Chile. For Chile this is a last friendly game before they catch the airplane to Russia for a participation in the Confederations Cup. Chile are the current Copa America title holders and one of the best teams in the world. This make them favourites against Romania, but be aware that Romania is usually a pretty tough team to play against at their own ground.
Arguably the best game for today is going to be played in Paris. We are about to witness another football classic, because France are hosting England in a spectacular friendly game. There’s no doubt that this is the match which is about to hold the biggest interest of the football fans tonight.
